Our Story
IEM Toastmasters Club was founded in 2018 with a vision to create a supportive and positive learning environment where members could develop communication and leadership skills, fostering personal and professional growth.
Since our inception, we have grown into a vibrant community of diverse individuals united by a common goal: to become more effective communicators and leaders. Our club is part of Toastmasters International, a worldwide nonprofit educational organization with over 364,000 members in more than 16,200 clubs across 145 countries.
Today, IEM Toastmasters Club continues to provide a platform for members to learn, grow, and achieve their personal and professional goals in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Our Mission
We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
Communication
We help members improve their speaking skills through a proven curriculum of self-paced projects, constructive feedback, and regular practice.
Leadership
Members develop leadership skills by organizing and conducting meetings, completing projects, and serving as club officers.
Community
We foster a supportive community where members can learn and grow together, building lasting friendships and professional connections.
The Toastmasters Experience
At each meeting, members take on various roles to practice different skills and ensure the smooth running of the session. These roles include:
- Toastmaster of the Day - The meeting facilitator
- Prepared Speakers - Members delivering prepared speeches
- Evaluators - Providing constructive feedback
- Table Topics Master - Leading impromptu speaking session
- Grammarian - Monitoring language usage
- Timer - Keeping track of time
- Ah-Counter - Noting verbal fillers
